Some of the not-so-healthy ones we often reach for include packets of chips, roasted nuts, lollies or biscuits from the office jar. Then there are those we might think are healthy but are actually full of sugar and fat, such as muesli bars and muffins, or loaded with high-GI ingredients, such as sushi, which has a disproportionate amount of white rice bound together with sugar. Foods like these might satisfy us temporarily, but they leave us with a feeling of wanting "more". Fruit provides a great vitamin and mineral boost, plus plenty of fibre. You can buy air-popped popcorn in single-portion sizes which are very easy and convenient.

Here are mine: Internal Excuses Excuse: I feel really tired and stressed, I just want to relax right now. Or switch the TV off and go do some other exercise. Also, stress relief generally improves with health and exercise.
I feel lazy, stupid, unattractive, hopeless, precisely because I am wasting my time and the people on screen all are impossibly smart, funny, beautiful, and have everything turn out perfectly for them. I tell my daughter to get out there and give things a go, so I need to as well. Stop being such a pussy. Wanting to be at my healthiest is not superficial. Solution: Exercise will make me warmer than if I stay snuggled up. Either get up earlier in the morning to do exercise, do it at lunchtime, or after my daughter is in bed.
There is plenty of opportunity. Solution: I can exercise in my own home with my own body weight, yoga mat, and balance ball. Solution: I can listen to my body, do lots of moderate exercise, and build up towards more intensity. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a thin body shape. It might take more effort, but it is within my control. I just have to eat less, eat healthier, and exercise.
External Excuses out of my control Excuse: Work deadlines can be ridiculous and have me work through the night to meet them — everything else has to go on hold. Solution: Even with deadlines I should be able to take a walk round the block, clear my head, think and walk at the same time.
I need to get better at pushing back at impossible deadlines so I have better work life balance.
